What is arithmetic here
The engine computes where the planets were on your birth date using published astronomy: sidereal longitudes, the Lahiri ayanamsa, the Vimshottari period chain. Two correct implementations must agree to the arc-second, and this one is tested against a reference implementation to exactly that tolerance. If you enjoy arguing with software, argue with the ephemeris. It will not lose.
What is tradition here
Everything interpretive. That Mercury's season "favors correspondence", that Saturn's transit reads as consolidation, that the Moon's mansion shades a mood: that is Jyotisha, a tradition with real internal logic and a long commentary tradition, and it is not science. The most honest description is literary. The readings work the way good metaphors work, by handing you a frame you might not have reached on your own.
What this app claims, precisely
That the calculations are correct. That the prose describes the computed data without inventing placements. That the whole thing is entertainment and self-reflection, a structured two-minute pause with questions attached. That is the complete list of claims. The app will not tell you what to sign, when to launch, or what to stay away from, partly because the merchant policy requires it, and partly because no app can know those things.
What you might still get out of it
Journals work. Prompts work. A fixed two-minute pause at the start of a working day, with a question you did not write yourself, has a way of surfacing the thing you were avoiding thinking about. If the planetary framing helps the pause feel less arbitrary, use it. If you would rather treat the whole thing as generated writing prompts with good typography, that works too. The reflections read the same either way.
